About Our Clinic

Led by Mark Franco, a California Board Certified acupuncturist with over 20 years of experience, our clinic is committed to providing individualized acupuncture services that promote healing, recovery, and holistic wellness.

Our office offers a comprehensive East-West integrative approach that bridges the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the evidence-based findings of modern medical research. By combining acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional guidance, I provide holistic care designed to address not only the immediate, surface-level symptoms (the "branches") but also the underlying imbalances (the "root cause") of health issues.

Here is how my approach provides a superior, collaborative patient experience:

  • Holistic, Root-Cause Focus: Unlike approaches that solely manage symptoms, I use TCM diagnostic tools—including pulse and tongue assessment—to understand the full spectrum of your health, addressing the root causes of chronic pain, stress, or internal disorders.

  • Acupuncture & Herbs: I integrate acupuncture with Chinese herbal medicine to treat patients holisticallly, providing tailored treatments that nourish the body from within and support the immune and digestive systems.

  • Modern Research Integration: I stay updated on modern pharmacology and medical studies that validate traditional practices, enhancing safety and ensuring that treatments like herbal medicine and acupuncture effectively complement your overall wellness.

  • Collaborative Patient Care: I act as a partner in your health journey, not a replacement for conventional medicine. I am committed to working directly with both the patient and their medical doctors (primary care, specialists) to provide the best patient care possible and ensure all treatments are coordinated.

  • Individualized Wellness Plan: Whether treating an injury, reducing the side effects of conventional medication or speeding recovery from surgery, I work with you to develop a personalized, integrated plan that respects both the immediate needs and long-term health goals.

"My goal is to create a seamless synergy between Eastern holistic traditions and Western medical diagnostics, offering a truly integrative path to health and longevity".

Safe, Proven, and Non-Invasive Care for Chronic Pain and Wellness

How Does Acupuncture Work?

Acupuncture is an integrative health technique involving the precise insertion of sterile, fine needles into specific points on the body. While traditional concepts involve the flow of energy, modern NIH-supported research suggests that acupuncture directly influences:

  • The Nervous System: Stimulating the release of natural pain-relieving chemicals like endorphins.

  • Inflammation Control: Activating distinct pathways that help reduce systemic inflammation.

  • Physical Function: Improving mobility and quality of life for those living with chronic conditions.

Acupuncture does more than just mask pain. Research suggests it triggers anti-inflammatory pathways and increases local blood flow to help repair damaged tissues. By stimulating the nervous system, it encourages the release of natural chemicals that help your body reset after high-stress physical exertion.

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes. When performed by a qualified, licensed practitioner using FDA-regulated sterile needles, acupuncture is considered exceptionally safe with a very low risk of side effects—especially compared to many common pain medications.
